Position Summary
The Lead Financial Control oversees the execution of accounting, close, and reporting activities for assigned entities or processes. They perform a pivotal role acting as first line of defence to ensure a true and fair view of company financial position in line with accounting standards and internal controls while supervising a team of F inance Professionals .
What you will be doing
Role Description
Responsible for managing and reviewing day-to-day accounting, period close, intercompany, and reporting activities within the RR GBS Record to Report function , ensuring timely and accurate delivery of financial results.
The Lead Financial Control supports the FA&R Team Lead in Period End related activities on process governance, performance monitoring and issue resolution.
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
1. Process Management

Oversee and execute general ledger, intercompany, and reporting tasks, ensuring everything is accurate and completed on time.

Ensure all processes comply with accounting policies, IFRS, and local GAAP, maintaining high standards of financial accuracy.

Act as process SME for specific topic / represent the team outside of GBS in Period End related discussion in absence of the FA&R Manager .
2. Team Leadership

Supervise and guide Finance Controller , training, helping them grow and perform at their best.

Review journal entries, reconciliations, and reports to ensure they are accurate and meet company standards.
4 . Period Close & Consolidation & Reporting

Execute and review period -end activities in line to the global close calendar.

Prepare , review and post period-end journal with adequate documentation , to ensure full audit trail.

Resolve and review intercompany reconciliations , ensure no IC difference reported .
5 . Controls, Compliance & Risk Management

Maintain a strong control environment, ensuring compliance with IC FR requirements .

Support internal and external audits by providing clear documentation and back-up .
Qualifications & Experience
Education:
-
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting , Finance, Business Administration, or related field.

Chartered Accountant (CA, CPA, ACCA) or equivalent.
Experience:
-
8+ years in accounting or shared services, including supervisory experience.

Deep SAP knowledge, strong understanding of consolidation and reporting processes, excellent communication and people management skills.

Advanced Excel skills preferred, including familiarity with macros.

Strong understanding of financial accounting standards (IFRS, UK GAAP), statutory disclosures, and foreign currency translations.
