Job Description

Title: Senior Vice President, North American Operations

Position Summary:

Rolls-Royce Power Systems (RRPS) is seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Vice President, North American Operations to lead our regional operations and drive business growth. Reporting to the Executive Vice President, Operations, this role is based in Aiken, SC (preferred location) and requires regular travel to RRPS sites across North America, including Aiken, Mankato, as well as regular visits to RRPS locations outside North America. The SVP will oversee a team of approximately 1,000 employees and hold full operational responsibility for all North American Power Systems activities, supporting the Rolls-Royce Group’s commitment to engineering excellence and customer satisfaction.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Champion a safety-first culture, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and Rolls-Royce Power Systems standards.
  • Drive operational excellence by achieving targets across safety, quality, delivery, cost, and productivity at all RRPS North American sites.
  • Embed robust quality systems and promote continuous improvement and lean initiatives throughout North American operations.
  • Lead operational readiness and transformation projects, enabling the successful industrialization and integration of new Rolls-Royce power technologies.
  • Participate in business planning and strategy sessions at both regional and global levels, reinforcing alignment with Rolls-Royce Group objectives.
  • Foster collaboration with cross-functional and global RRPS teams to ensure effective communication and seamless execution of business priorities.
  • Develop and coach high-performing plant leadership teams, with a focus on succession planning, talent growth, and capability building in line with Rolls-Royce values.
  • Drive capacity expansion and scalability initiatives to meet evolving customer demands and support RRPS business growth.
  • Uphold compliance with all relevant regulations and company policies, reflecting Rolls-Royce’s dedication to operational integrity and excellence.

Basic Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business administration, or a related field with 12+ years of progressive leadership experience in operations management, preferably within power systems, automotive, defense, or related industrial sectors OR;
  • Master’s degree in engineering, business administration, or a related field with 8+ years of progressive leadership experience in operations management, preferably within power systems, automotive, defense, or related industrial sectors OR;
  • PhD/JD degree in engineering, business administration, or a related field with 5+ years of progressive leadership experience in operations management, preferably within power systems, automotive, defense, or related industrial sectors.
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated experience overseeing multi-site operations in a complex, international environment.
  • Proven track record of implementing safety, quality, and productivity initiatives.
  • Strong understanding of regulatory compliance and operational standards relevant to manufacturing and industrial operations.
  • Ability and willingness to travel regularly across North America and internationally as required.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Extensive senior leadership experience in operations, preferably within power systems, automotive, defense, or a related industrial sector; experience in global organizations is highly valued.
  • Proven ability to manage multi-site operations in a complex, international, and matrixed environment.
  • Demonstrated expertise in driving operational excellence and supporting organizational transformation.
  • Strong track record in building and developing high-performing leadership teams, with emphasis on succession planning, talent development, and capability building consistent with Rolls-Royce standards.
  • Exceptional leadership and communication skills, with the ability to influence, engage, and inspire stakeholders across multiple regions and functions.
